Richard Baker
After graduating with a Law Degree from Cambridge University (where he also gained Blues for both association football and cricket) Richard was articled in Central London and was a member of the private client department of one of the City of London's largest firms prior to joining Horwood & James in 1981. Richard became a partner with the firm in 1984 and became the senior partner in 2010. Richard also heads the Probate and Trust Department.
Richard’s specialist areas include:
- Administration of estates and trusts (including those involving private company shares, partnership interests and/or agricultural property)
- Will drafting
- Powers of Attorney
- Trusts for the Disabled
- Estate Planning (with particular reference to the mitigation of Inheritance Tax and Capital Gains Tax)
